Bling and Bliss thankful for the dog show

Image
We are so thankful for being able to head out of town and go to the dog show in Houston.   The little things, such as attending a dog show, we had taken for granted and we now see through clearer eyes. Bliss and Bling I appreciate the time the show committees have taken during these tumultuous times to organize the shows.   I appreciate the judges who, under adverse conditions, have taken on judging assignments.  Let's not overlook the American Kennel Club whose staff records all the results.  In the midst of the current crazy life swirling around us, we are all taking measures to remain safe and keep others around us safe.   It has been so much fun to get our puppy, Bliss, out and teach her the fun of dog showing.   Bling, who is now 8 years old, was entered as a veteran.   We don't want her to feel overshadowed by the pup.   So, se decided to enter her in the show too.  Bling couldn't wait to get on the grooming table.  Bling couldn't wait to get in the car when she

Happy Thanksgiving from Bling

Image
Hi Everyone, Wanted to wish you all a HAPPY THANKSGIVING from Texas.   It was raining out, but I just had to pose in front of this giant turkey for you. Hey kids - do you know what the turkey in the photo is made out of?   It is made out of a roll of hay that is used to feed cows. If you have some extra time this Thanksgiving, make a turkey like this with your family.  Instead of the roll of hay you could use anything round - maybe a can for soup or vegetables?   If you do make a turkey, send me a photo!   I'd love to see what you made.   My email is adogbling@gmail.com - or post the photo here on my Facebook page. Have a wonderful day.  Love to you!    Your friend, Bling #adogbling

Bling's weekly book review - Splat the Cat Sings Flat. Based on the bestselling books by Rob Scotton.

Hi Friends,  We are starting a new book this week.   It is called "Adventures of Splat the Cat" and has five different stories in it.   Many of you know I have a cat.  His name is Rembrandt Blue.  My family has three other cats too.  But, Rembrandt Blue is mine.   Rembrandt Blue loved me the minute he came to live with us.  He was a tiny kitten.  He was always sitting on me.  I pretended I was invisible.   I sure love him.   Splat the Cat reminds me of Rembrandt Blue.  They are both totally awesome and sensitive but fun.   The first story we are going to read is "Splat the Cat Sings Flat"  ....  so does my mom  (ha ha ha ha ha). Our story starts out with Splat the Cat going to Cat School.   Gosh, I had no idea there was such a thing.   I have been to dog school.  Rembrandt Blue never went to school.   He was home schooled - which is just fine too.   Hum...let's read on and see what happens.   It turns out the teacher had big news for Splat and his class.   The

Bling Reviews - Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes

Hi Friends, We have a really fun book to review this week.  The name of the book is Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse and it was written by Kevin Henkes.      Our main character is a little gray mouse named Lilly.   She is really cute.    If you look at the photo below you will see I was reading the book to Faith and Lacey, one of my cats.   All of a sudden, the pup, Bliss, barged in and demanded to be part of the story time.  Ooops - I thought she was taking her baby nap.   Sorry Bliss!  I better not leave my little sister out again. You know how I LOVE to look at the pictures in books.   I noticed right away that Lilly was wearing red cowboy boots.  I LOVE red cowboy boots.   Oh my, it appears I am getting off track... back to my review.  The first thing I noticed while reading the book was how Lilly was happy about everything.   She loved her teacher, she loved school, she loved drawing; Lilly was one happy little mouse.   Then, one day  Lilly took something to class that she was rea
