Bling Reviews - Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes

We have a really fun book to review this week.  The name of the book is Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse and it was written by Kevin Henkes.      Our main character is a little gray mouse named Lilly.   She is really cute.    If you look at the photo below you will see I was reading the book to Faith and Lacey, one of my cats.   All of a sudden, the pup, Bliss, barged in and demanded to be part of the story time.  Ooops - I thought she was taking her baby nap.   Sorry Bliss!  I better not leave my little sister out again.




You know how I LOVE to look at the pictures in books.   I noticed right away that Lilly was wearing red cowboy boots.  I LOVE red cowboy boots.   Oh my, it appears I am getting off track... back to my review.  The first thing I noticed while reading the book was how Lilly was happy about everything.   She loved her teacher, she loved school, she loved drawing; Lilly was one happy little mouse.   Then, one day  Lilly took something to class that she was really excited to share.   Things did not work out how Lilly thought they would.   Lilly learned a valuable lesson that includes kindness and patience.   I sure don't want to ruin the story and tell you more.   If you have an opportunity to read this book (and look at the wonderful pictures) I think you will be glad you did!!

Bling's Book Review - Do Unto Otters, bu Laurie Keller

Hi Kids, I am going to start doing a weekly book review.  There are so many GGGGRRRREAT books out there.   I wish we could read them all.  This week, my book review is on " Do Unto Otters " by author, Laurie Keller .  The book is fabulous.   Of course, the first thing I enjoyed was the cover and all the illustrations of ANIMALS.  I LOVE animals.  On the cover, Ms. Keller writes this book is, "A Book About Manners."   You know, learning great manners is one of those things that we can never stop learning about.  The older we get, the more we try, and the more we care about others, will all teach us to have the best manners possible.   Manners might not seem important now, but they are.  Believe me when I tell you this!!   The book starts out with Otters moving to the animals' neighborhood in the forest.  All the other animals are worried about the Otters.  The other animals were worried that the Otters would not have good manners.   The animals hoped the O

Hi friends, It is time for this week's book review.   Do you remember a few weeks ago we talked about a story book containing 3 stories about Harry the dog?   Well, I thought it would be fun to review the second story of this book.   Of course the story is about our cute little buddy, Harry.  The name of this week's story in the book is No Roses for Harry.   The story is written by Gene Zion and illustrated by Margaret Bloy Graham . If you remember the last story we read about Harry, you will remember Harry seems to get himself into trouble.   Well, Harry is going to get himself into trouble again in this story.
