Bling has a new pet, an English Budgie named Mr Beeps.  He is a character in her book, No Ghoulish Green Monsters Here.    We brought him into our family thinking how fun it would be to take him to book readings.  He is 3 months old and so very sweet. I did a book reading this morning and he was a huge hit.  Look for more photos of Mr. Beeps on Bling's Facebook page    Mr. Beeps went to the event as a surprise for the kids.  He was covered and they had no idea he was there.  When I started reading to the kids, I told them a pet from the book was with me,   After we were done reading the book, the kids could guess what character was there and then meet the surprise pet.  The kids had so much fun guessing.  We then had a wonderful interactive discussion about pets and pet care. Our book this week, Dog in Charge , is full of surprises.  One thing that is not a surprise is the subject.  It is a book about a dog...oh yeah, I LOVE that.  The book also has cats in it!  I LOVE cats.  Two of the cats look like my cats.  I have a Siamese cat named Rembrandt Blue and a long haired gray cat named Smudge.   Of course I would LOVE a book about cats and dogs.   How could I not?! The main character is an American Bulldog named "Dog". ...
